  3. I predict that the main character has lost a sibling, causing him and his parents to be depressed. Thereore I believe that his mother or father will become mentally ill, but can't afford the anti-depression medication or the hospitalization fees, to help him/her.

  4. I predict this book will be about a young boy who's just lost his sibling, and has become mentally ill in the sense of violence and anger. He will be an interesting kid, a little different, and sees joy in little things. I believe he will not be comfortable putting trust and love in anyone because of the death of his sibling, and he will therefore not have many friends. I also think he will be a liar, and he will make stories up about his life.

  5. I predict that the book will be about a boy who has just lost a close sibling and has become more mentally ill. We will learn about his experiences with the world and we will be able to watch how he reacts to things. We will be able to see him grow and come out from his cold childhood. The boy will show his emotions clearly and will try to "spice" up his story to make friends

  6. I think The Catcher in the Rye will be about a boy who has lost his sibling, and has become out of control and mentally ill dealing with this death. Since we are watching Pleasantville in class which takes place in the 50's, I think that that's when the book takes place too. The boy will most likely not be into sharing his feelings with others, and have a hard time trusting people.

  8. I think that Catcher in the Rye will clearly take place in the 50's and it will be about a teenage boy who has to suffer the loss of a sibling. I think that he will have trouble coping with the situation and become bored with himself. Over the course of the story he will probably "find himself" again.

  11. I predict that the book entitled, The Catcher in the Rye will be about a family who is doing well financially but when a family member was lost money got scarce. The parents will become mentally ill, to some extent, and might have to become hospitalized. The young boy(the main character) won't know how to deal with the loss of his sibling and the money loss so he decides to run away from it all.

  14. I have a feeling that in this story there will be a conflict about being who you are or becoming who you are , or at least thats what I inferred from the pre reading questions. I know that it takes place in the 1950's, I also think that a character will lose a sibling. Another thing is I think that this book will end in a learning experience not only for the main character but also for the reader
